…until you hear this.

There is no question - paying off a mortgage early saves interest. But what will you be losing by paying off your mortgage early? It’s called Lost Opportunity. If you can simply earn 1.4% on the extra mortgage payments required to payoff a mortgage at 3.75% APR over 15 years rather than 30 years, then you can come out ahead of the interest you would save by making those extra payments. Just 1.4%. This return is completely possible with a basic guaranteed financial tool.

Considering all the facts in your situation, it might make sense to payoff a mortgage early, but please don’t make this decision before your hear the reasoning behind managing your money more effectively by NOT making extra payments. This could change the way you think about extra mortgage payments for the rest of your life.

Queen was almost prophetic with their song… many Americans are biting the dust financially because they depended on financial planners who didn’t know the future. Of course the responsibility to take care of these people doesn’t fall on the financial planner, but rather on the client’s own children.

This leads to the sandwich generation, people who are taking care of both their parents and their children. This should not be happening in America… but it is. What can we do to keep our children from having to take care of us?

Today on WealthTalks, Tom and John talk about what we need to do to take care of our future. Listen Now

In this week’s episode, John is joined by Ben as they discuss this story, and how it applies to us today.

Americans are running out of money in retirement, and its not just by a little… there’s a big shortfall. It shouldn’t be this way, but sadly Americans have either not saved enough, or saved in the wrong places… maybe some of both.

The typical IRA and 401k are just not cutting it. So what should we do instead?

Today on Wealth Talks, Tom and John talk about why the 401k and the IRAs have failed Americans, and what we can do to save more effectively for the future.

Some people advocate borrowing from a life insurance policy for everything. Others vehemently oppose taking a policy loan at all. What should you do? The answer is simple though not conclusive… it depends.

Sometimes it makes great sense to take a policy loan. At other times, you can save more money by borrowing elsewhere.

Today on Wealth Talks, Tom and John point out the effects of borrowing against a policy, and how you can decide when to use a policy loan and when to look for other funding options.

With low interest rates right now, does it make sense to make extra payments right now? This is an area of confusion for many, and it is often glossed over by the experts in finance.

Today on WealthTalks, Tom and John discuss making extra payments on a mortgage, and even using a HELOC to pay off the mortgage early.

Real Estate prices have been fluctuating for years. Goaded by natural disasters, crime and political intrigue, real estate prices have been anything but stable. Seemingly “safe” properties are not immune, the arrival of a less than desirable neighbor, or the whim of some politician can change your home’s value drastically.
All told real estate seems a slippery surface on which to set your basket of eggs.

But what else can we do? Where else can we build equity today? Commercial Real Estate? A HELOC perhaps?
Join us on Wealth Talks and discover the answers to these questions.

The purpose of TUMS and other antacids seems straightforward - almost like a magical formula to solve Heartburn and acid indigestion. But how do antacids work? They either neutralize the acid in your stomach or, depending on the product, they might prevent you from making as much acid in the first place. With no acid to slosh up your esophagus, you can’t get heartburn!

This all seems great, but an interesting study shows that those who took antacids were more likely to become ill than those who did not. The acids in your stomach protect you from diseases. With these acids destroyed, germs can move right in and pull a chair up to the fire, so to speak.

Eating raw foods will keep your immune system strong and will also help too keep you from getting heartburn, as your stomach doesn’t have to produce as much acid to break down these foods.

But let’s face it. Replacing a Big hamburger and fries with cool Brussel sprouts and carrot sticks, can be disheartening to say the least.

Today on Wealth Talks, Nutritionist Doug Grant reveals the natural solution to excess stomach acid. And no, you don’t have to munch Brussel sprouts for the rest of your life!

It’s obvious that Christian faith is under attack on many levels across America. This inherently includes an attack on the Judeo-Christian values which support the ownership of personal property and allow American families to build sustainable wealth. Dr. Ralph Reed’s latest book For God and Country provides a defense of Judeo-Christian values especially relating to political decisions in the face of vocal opposition.

When it comes to elected officials, you can’t ignore or deny that there are “politics” involved in the way they deal with certain issues and regulations including recent restrictions and standards surrounding COVID and rioting.

But Freedom is in the DNA of the American people, and most agree on the foundational values of: Faith in God, Strong Families & Civil Society, Free Markets, Rule of Law and Limited Government.

Many evangelical Christians are facing hate for supporting Donald J. Trump for President in 2016. As the Founder and Chairman of Faith and Freedom Coalition + working on the campaigns for 11 presidential elections over the years, Dr. Reed definitely has a connection to the pulse of national politics as they relate to Christian Faith and values.

Listen and consider what the election means for your faith, values and wealth.

3 Steps to Effectively Stand for your Values in 2020 and beyond:

  • Be educated & informed
  • Vote
  • Work to influence public policy

Only 59% of Americans own life insurance and 50% of these people are still under-insured. Why don’t people own more life insurance?

Perhaps it’s because they:

  • Have been told it’s a bad investment?
  • Have heard misunderstandings about life insurance
  • Had an experience with a bad policy (or a bad agent)

Or maybe they think:

  • Group life insurance is enough
  • Life insurance is “just for the next guy”
  • The insurance they would like to have would be too expensive
  • Or maybe they don’t want to think about it.

There are many benefits to owning the right kind of life insurance policies in the 2020 economic environment and beyond. Today Tom and John discuss some of these benefits and reveal common mistakes around life insurance.

COVID is on the rampage! Stay safe, stay home, wear a mask, social distance, but you could die anyway. Fortunately, you can discover if you have the disease by taking a simple test. Unfortunately, 80% of positive test results are false positives, but so what?  Oh, and pull up that mask, all the way over your nose… it’s to keep you safe… it’s to keep everyone else safe, but to really be safe, let’s quarantine.

Wow! It sounds deadly! What can we do to fight this super-virus?

Today on Wealth Talks, Tom and John are joined by Dr. John Bergman, an internationally renowned doctor, practicing in the U.S. and Mexico. Dr. Bergman brings special insight around the COVID virus, and what to do to really stay safe.

Many people think the Federal Reserve is a wing of government… but in actuality it is a Private Cartel.

The unusual thing about the Federal Reserve is their ability to create money. We have to work to make our money, but the Federal Reserve can simply print its very own Benjamin Franklins.

In today’s day and age, they don’t even have to print. They can generate money with a click of a computer key!

No! It can’t be as easy as that! But it is!

Very Comforting… isn’t it?

Today on Wealth Talks, Tom and John are joined by Dr. Paul Cleveland. Dr. Cleveland has a Ph.D. in Economics and is a Professor of Economics and Finance at Birmingham-Southern College. Dr. Cleveland gives us a brief history of the Federal Reserve and how it operates + a way we can stay in the game despite the rising inflation.

If you let procrastination get a grip on you, it can crush you! People procrastinate all the time, whether rushing busily around doing nothing, or lazily evading their work. One thing people procrastinate about a lot, is their money.

They make their money, but then they lock it some place they can’t get it. Or, they hand it over to their Financial Planner, or Stock Broker, because, after all, they will know best what to do.

Why do they do this? Because to learn how to grow their money would take some work on their part, and they would rather just hand it over to someone else. This type of procrastination has cost people big time!

What can you do to avoid procrastination? Listen Now
